A passion for helping others led Dr. Carpenter down the path of medicine into a career that allows him to provide patients with high-quality healthcare.
Education & Training
Dr. Carpenter was raised in Paris, Texas, and graduated from Baylor University in 2006. He then spent two years conducting research at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston before starting medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. He began his five-year urologic surgical training at Rowan University in New Jersey in 2012 and served as chief urology resident during his final year there. Dr. Carpenter is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgeons.
Special Interests
Dr. Jay Carpenter joins Texas Center for Urology after being in private practice in Paris Texas since 2017. Dr. Carpenter has a particular interest in the management of BPH, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, male sexual dysfunction, and kidney stone disease. He has extensive training in robotic surgery, endoscopic management of urinary stones, prosthetics and sacral neuromodulation for bowel and bladder dysfunction.
Personal
Dr. Carpenter and his wife Kacy, an OB-GYN and native of Mesquite, Texas, have two children and reside in Aledo, Texas.
